Disabling the O2 sensors

• Disconnecting the O2 sensors is quite simple. They are located at the bottom of the left side. The left side cowl will need to be removed. If you can't find them follow the sensor wires from the exhaust to where ever the connectors happen to be. You can disconnect them without any issues. Once disconnected you will get the "FI" light on you dash. To get rid of this light you need to trick the ECU into thinking that the O2 sensors are still hooked up. That can be done two ways. The easiest is to buy a set of O2 eliminators from DynoJet which will cost you about $40.00. The second is to go to Radio Shack and buy two 1/2 Watt 330ohm resistors $.99 each and stick them across each plug. They go across the connections opposite from the lock tab. Your "FI" light will be out and your sensors will be bye bye. For me this made a HUGE difference. The need to play with the clutch on low speed turns and is gone. The throttle is super smooth on the low end, even in first. My U-Turns have tightened because of it.

• Some bike behave different to different mods. This may work for you, it may not. Plugging the sensors back in if it doesn't takes about three seconds.
